No Longer Empty’s exhibition, ‘When You Cut Into The Present The Future Leaks Out’ isn’t just about the great artwork on display but it is also about the community engagement via the many programs surrounding the exhibition and this weekend will not disappoint with FIVE events!

Sneak Peak for Tonight! Inside The Abandoned Old Bronx Borough Courthouse: Gothamist

Tonight is the night we’ve been waiting for! From 6PM – 9PM The Old Bronx Courthouse will finally open to the public for the next three months for No Longer Empty’s ‘When You Cut Into The Present The Future Leaks Out’ featuring the works of 27 artists scattered throughout 3 levels of this gorgeous landmark building.

Bx200 Bronx Visual Artist Directory Launch Party Tomorrow at The Bronx Museum

Join Bx200 tomorrow at The Bronx Museum of the Arts from 6pm – 9pm as they hold their official launch of their directory of Bronx artists. The evening will be a fun celebration of the Arts in The Bronx as the group will have a slideshow from our wonderful, artistic community and John “Crash” Matos of WallworksNY will be on hand as a guest speaker.

Oh and did we mention that Morris Perk will be on hand providing their amazing coffee?

Press Release: Exhibition opens at Old Bronx Borough Courthouse on April 23

New York, March 20, 2015 – No Longer Empty (NLE) is pleased to present When You Cut into the Present the Future Leaks Out at the Old Bronx Borough Courthouse. Curated by Regine Basha for NLE, the exhibition is one of seven projects to receive the Neighborhood Challenge Award. Built 1905–1914 and attributed to architects Michael John Garvin and Oscar Florianus Bluemner, the Courthouse, once boasting granite floors, lavish stairways, and bronze doors, remains adorned by a statue of Lady Justice. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Bronx County, the Beaux Arts-style building has been shuttered for 37 years.

Open Call For Artists For BxArts Factory Fundraiser at Gun Hill Brewing Co!

Since BxArts Factory announced their launch earlier this year, they have been on fire with event after event and there seems like no stopping them!

Now the group is having a fundraiser and has put out a call for artists and artwork for a fundraiser to be held at Gun Hill Brewing Co on April 17th-18th, 2015 with 40% of any sale going to the artist and 60% to benefit the BxArts Factory, a non-profit arts-based organization. It’s important to note that you can submit 2 dimensional art INCLUDING photographs as long as you follow the guidelines.

Innuendos: The Voices of 10 Bronxite Women—Tomorrow at The Andrew Freedman Home (Along With Another Art Show Opening!)

Tomorrow, Friday, March 6 from 5:30PM – 9:30PM, you’ll get TWO art openings under one roof as the BxArts Factory launches their first exhibition called ‘Innuendos: The Voices of 10 Bronxite Women’, and the Andrew Freedman Home Artists in Residence II Annual Art Exhibition featuring 15 artists and their works.

The New York Armory Show Comes to Our Borough at The Bronx Museum for Bronx Speaks: Making Place

One of New York City’s premier art shows, The New York Armory Show, will be having a Bronx Day in conjunction with The Bronx Arts Alliance at The Bronx Museum of the Arts. Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4th from 4PM – 8PM you can view this 4 day exhibition covering a wide variety of mediums and disciplines as well as programming for all ages.

Free Valentine’s Day Portraits At The Bronx Documentary Center!

It’s that time again when the Bronx Documentary Center provides free holiday portraits for the community, this time for Valentine’s Day, Saturday from 2pm-4pm.

Each couple gets 1 free 8×10 portrait (must be a Bronx resident) and each additional copies at $5.00 each. Non-Bronx residents can also get their portraits taken for $5.00 per print.

The Bronx Documentary Center is located at 614 Courtlandt Avenue at the corner of 151st Street in Melrose.
