#BlackLivesMatter: Afro-Writing on the Margins

With poet Lorraine Currelley and Mosaic’s Ron Kavanaugh
Lorraine Currelley is an African-American poet and Executive Director of Poets Network & Exchange, an organization dedicated to showcasing literary artists from marginalized communities. She’ll be joined by editor and program advisor Ron Kavanaugh of Mosaic, a tri-annual magazine dedicated to fostering the voices of writers of African descent. They’ll discuss Afro-diasporic feminist and LGBTQ perspectives and how they inform contemporary literary production in the age of #BlackLivesMatter. This town hall discussion will be moderated by author Charles Rice-González, Executive Director of Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance (BAAD!), and will culminate with a Q&A and public discourse.
