Bronx Filmmaker’s Movie Is A Cinéfondation Selection At The 2014 Cannes Film Festival

Reinaldo Marcus Green’s short film, ‘Stone Cars’, has been selected by the The Cinéfondation of the world renowned Cannes Film Festival. Green’s film is one of 16 to make the list out of 1,631 entries submitted from throughout the globe.
Simply being nominated for the prestigious award is a huge honor and to have a Bronxite in the mix is something we can all be proud of.

Mayor De Blasio Launches ‘Vision Zero’ Initiative & Website In Effort To Curb Pedestrian & Traffic Fatalities

Last year there were 156 pedestrian fatalities on the streets of New York City representing an increase from 2012 as well as 2011. According to an analysis done by the Daily News of NYPD statistics, there were 7 pedestrian related deaths during the first 12 days of this year and if this trend were to continue it would put us on pace to hit well over 200 fatalities this year.

There’s been a lot of talk lately about the State of transportation in the Bronx and particularly the underserved East Bronx where 4 new Metro North stations are planned for some time around 2019-2020 or so.
